The Lyon Township Fire Department (LTFD) in Oakland County, Michigan, is seeking to fill the position of Firefighter/EMT (currently two positions available). Come join our team as one of the fastest-growing communities in Michigan.
Qualifications
- Valid (unrestricted) Michigan Driver’s License
- Michigan Firefighter I and II
- State of Michigan EMS licensure as a Basic EMT or Paramedic
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Firefighters must be a U.S. Citizen 18 years or older at time of employment and have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- A valid Michigan Operator’s license, with a good record, is required for initial employment and must be maintained while an employee
- EMPCO score of 70% or greater
- Possession of a Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) or OPAT certification prior to interview.
Benefits
- Base Salary of $55,445.38
- Top pay after 4 years is currently $69,306.78
- With lateral transfer of up to 4 years of full-time firefighting experience.

- Annual Holiday Pay-162.5 hours

- 401(b) deferred compensation plan-10% base wage
- 457b Social Security opt out with 7.65% matching
- Clothing and food allowance
- 53-hour week
