Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide evaluations to determine patient needs, goals, and functional capabilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving independence, safety, and performance in daily activities.
- Implement therapeutic interventions addressing ADLs, IADLs, strength, coordination, cognition, and functional mobility.
- Fabricate, fit, or recommend adaptive equipment and provide patient/caregiver training on its use.
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Supervise and mentor COTAs and guide their contributions to patient treatment plans.
- Monitor patient responses and adjust interventions to achieve optimal functional outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on strategies, home programs, and safety practices to support ongoing progress.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (or anticipated graduation).
- Current Wyoming OT license or eligibility upon graduation.
- Strong clinical reasoning and evaluation skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and functional outcomes.
- Experience in rural healthcare or interest in serving rural communities.
- Comfort supervising and collaborating with COTAs.
- Strong documentation and time-management skills.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
