Her Next Play (www.hernextplay.org) is a non-profit focused on leadership and career development for girls and women athletes. Our mission is to develop the next generation of women leaders through sports. HNP programs inspire girls to stay in sports and help girls develop as leaders. The Her Next Play Program Intern will work closely with the Her Next Play Leadership team to develop, implement, and promote leadership and career development programs for female athletes. The internship will be mainly remote but could include in-person components in Minneapolis and the surrounding metro area.
Her Next Play Program Intern Responsibilities:
- Develop/edit collateral as needed for summer events & upcoming school year events
- Organize & execute social media posts / strategy
- Option to facilitate in person Workshops/Events for middle school and/or high school girls including outreach communication and follow-ups
- Work closely with Director to organize event management and administration including participation communication, event materials, and marketing follow-up
- Propose & execute upgrades to Google Drive and website
- Research potential grants, foundation funding opportunities, and support fundraising opportunities as needed
- Research and connect with potential partners as directed
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Interested in sports and leadership development for girls and women
- Self-driven, accountable, and comfortable working independently and as part of a virtual team
- Strong communication skills
- Quick learner willing to tackle new projects and develop and pilot programs
- Technically savvy with experience in Canva (or willingness to learn), Google Drive & comfortable with social media management
- Prefer candidate that is a current college athlete or played competitive sports in high school who can relate to the mindset & experience of girls and women athletes
Internship Structure Details
- Expected 10-20 hours of remote and potential in-person work per week to be tracked by intern
- Regular check ins with HNP leadership (virtual)
- Flexibility to shift responsibilities based on areas of interest and skill set as well as HNP needs
- Support for overall career development by Her Next Play leadership team (we’ll help connect you for informational interviews, strengthen your resume, and build your LinkedIn profile, etc.)
Compensation:
This internship is part of the Lawrence-Funded internship program. The student selected for this internship will receive a $5k stipend to help cover housing and transportation costs and living expenses.
