Outset is a startup education company based in New York, NY. We are hiring a remote Social Media Intern for Spring 2026 to help us grow our online presence—especially on Instagram—through strong creative instincts, sharp editing, and a great feel for what’s trending.
What you’ll do
- Create and publish short-form content for Instagram (Reels/Stories) and TikTok
- Own a lightweight content calendar: ideation → production → posting
- Edit video quickly (cuts, captions, hooks, basic motion/text)
- Track performance and iterate based on what’s working (views, watch time, saves, shares)
- Engage with comments/DMs and help build community (as needed)
- Collaborate with the team to translate product updates and ideas into compelling posts
What we’re looking for
- Currently enrolled at a U.S. college or university (required)
- Required: Successful experience managing and growing an Instagram and/or TikTok account (personal, campus org, brand, or creator account)
- Strong taste: you know what performs and why (hooks, pacing, trends, storytelling)
- Comfortable being scrappy: you can plan, film, edit, and post independently
- Bonus: basic design skills (Canva/Figma), copywriting, or meme fluency
