Energy and Resiliency Intern
Summary
The Energy and Resiliency Intern will support GLWA’s Energy Efficiency Program through energy-efficiency tasks, field support, and data management. The intern will assist with metering, lighting, and power quality initiatives while gaining hands-on experience across both water and wastewater facilities.
Job Responsibilities
• Assist in monitoring and managing the LED light replacement projects
• Assist in collecting, reviewing, and analyzing power quality data for both water and wastewater facilities
• Support ongoing and new energy-efficiency projects across GLWA
• Work collaboratively with Energy Team members and gain exposure to electrical and other forms of energy use in large-scale utility operations
• Learn from experienced mentors and grow in the areas of energy efficiency, metering, and power quality
• Participate in engineering analyses, reporting, and documentation for water and wastewater facilities
Required Education and Experience
At the time of application, applicant must:
Currently enrolled in an bachelor’s, master's or PhD degree program with an accredited college or university with a related field of study.
A student in good standing and classified by their institution as a rising sophomore or higher
Other Requirements
Able to commit to working at least 20 hours per week
Follow security and safety policies and procedures in carrying out work duties.
Ability to commute to GLWA facilities on a daily basis
Valid Michigan Driver’s License
