Center-Based Early Start Specialist / Teacher Educator
The Early Start Specialist / Teacher Educator plans and implements high-quality early intervention services for infants and toddlers (18 to 36 months) with developmental delays in a center-based setting. This role leads the classroom, supervises assistant staff, supports family engagement, ensures IFSP alignment, and maintains a safe, nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement curriculum and individualized plans in support of child
development and IFSP goals.
• Provide direct instruction and intervention in the classroom for children ages 18-36 months.
• Supervise, mentor, and support assistant teachers and volunteers.
• Collaborate with families to embed learning strategies into daily routines and promote family engagement.
• Document child progress, assessments, and service logs in compliance with program standards.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and stimulating classroom environment that meets regulatory requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and team-based planning.
Minimum Qualifications
• Child Development Teacher Permit OR Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or related field.
• Experience working with infants and toddlers (18 to 36 months), preferably with developmental delays.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to work onsite in a center environment; reliable transportation if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Special
Education.
• Experience supervising staff in early childhood or intervention programs.
• Knowledge of IFSPs, early intervention documentation, and developmental assessments.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Compensation
• Hourly range: $18-22 per hour, based on education and experience.
