Process Engineer Intern Summer
Position Summary
The Process Engineer Intern will support manufacturing and engineering activities by assisting with process optimization, data collection, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides hands-on exposure to production operations while developing technical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with monitoring and improving manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency, and safety
Collect and analyze production data (scrap, downtime, output, and quality metrics)
Support troubleshooting of process issues alongside operators, engineers, and supervisors
Help document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process settings
Participate in trials, testing, and validation of new materials or process changes
Support continuous improvement and Lean/5S initiatives
Follow all safety policies and participate in required training
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field)
Strong interest in manufacturing and process improvement
Basic understanding of manufacturing principles preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical & Work Environment
Manufacturing plant environment
Requires time on the production floor
Must follow all safety and PPE requirements
