Peer Educator Intern (Spring & Summer 2026)
Position Overview:
Step’s Foundation, Inc. is seeking passionate and motivated Peer Educator Interns to join our youth empowerment and mental health advocacy initiatives. This unpaid hybrid internship offers a unique opportunity for students to facilitate conversations, lead mental health education, and build supportive peer relationships in both school and community settings.
Interns will be trained to deliver peer-led sessions and promote mental health awareness among teens—helping to reduce stigma and increase access to resources for students and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate peer-led discussions and workshops on mental health, life skills, and wellness
- Build meaningful relationships with students to promote safe, supportive spaces for dialogue
- Support school-based programs at our partner site in Kissimmee
- Participate in outreach events and community programs where mental health education is offered
- Help develop and refine youth-centered content and outreach materials
- Collaborate with program staff and fellow interns on engagement strategies
- Assist with tracking attendance and gathering feedback to improve programming
Qualifications:
- Passionate about mental health, youth empowerment, and social advocacy
- Comfortable speaking in group settings and engaging peers in conversation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to inclusion and confidentiality
- Willing and able to attend in-person events and school sessions in Kissimmee
- Open to learning, training, and participating as part of a supportive team
