The NSF EPSCoR CREST Center for Adaptive Nanomotor Design at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Rebecca Buckley in the Department of Genetics. The position offers a dynamic and collaborative research environment with opportunities for professional development and meaningful contribution to a federally funded, interdisciplinary research program. The Postdoctoral Fellow will participate in ongoing studies focused on biochemical and biophysical mechanisms of molecular motors, contributing to a deeper understanding of motor protein regulation, ensemble coordination, and inhibitor-based dissection of motor-cytoskeletal systems.

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in protein biochemistry and molecular biophysics. Candidates should have extensive experience performing bacterial expression and purification of recombinant proteins using affinity and size-exclusion chromatography as well as biochemical and kinetic assays to characterize enzyme function. Candidates with microcopy experience, including TIRF microscopy, are strongly desired. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, have a productive research record, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Individuals holding or near completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent degree are eligible. US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
