DUTIES
• Prepare construction plans, drainage reports, specifications, and estimates
• Work with owners and local and state agency personnel to successfully complete plans and gain reviewing agency approval
• Guide and assist with the development of site and utility plans, grading plans and perform earthwork analysis, storm water conveyance systems, and storm water erosion plans
• Assist in solving problems and issues that arise during design and construction phases
• Review and markup plans
• Determine right-of-ways, easements, and property information that impacts subsequent projects
• Perform hydraulic computations and detailed calculations
• Research for development permits
EXPERIENCE
• Working toward licensure preferred
• 2 or more years’ experience working in hydrology and hydraulic calculations, drainage design, flood-control, watershed modeling, earthwork planning, and utility design or installations
EDUCATION
• B.S.C.E. or equivalent from an ABET accredited program
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
• Knowledge of codes and engineering practices
• Ability to use survey level and GPS instruments preferred
• Proficient in software skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D including grading, pipes networks, profiles, cross sections, and corridors
• Experience in software programs including GIS, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills including technical and proposal writing
