Soils Geotechnical Engineer

SOILS / GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

(Infiltration Testing, Soil Analysis, Environmental Support)

Position Summary
Dumack Engineering is seeking a Junior Soils/Geotechnical Engineer to support field testing, soil evaluations, environmental due diligence, and preparation of technical reports. This role is ideal for candidates early in their geotechnical or environmental engineering career.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist with infiltration and percolation testing in the field.
  2. Collect soil samples and conduct basic soil classification.
  3. Support preparation of geotechnical and infiltration reports.
  4. Assist with research and fieldwork for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
  5. Support sampling coordination and documentation for Phase II investigations.
  6. Perform site reconnaissance and prepare field notes.

Qualifications

  1. Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science.
  2. Interest in fieldwork and outdoor testing activities.
  3. Familiarity with stormwater infiltration concepts is a plus.
  4. Strong writing and communication abilities.
  5. Ability to work both independently and with senior guidance.
