Wage/Salary: This position is paid a $800 stipend at the end of the semester. If the student has Federal Work Study as part of their financial aid package, they may be eligible for an hourly wage of $16/hour in lieu of the stipend.

About TAC
The Textile Arts Center of Madison (TAC) is a nonprofit arts organization serving as a hub for fiber arts. TAC offers a wide variety of classes and workshops for adults and youth, exhibitions of contemporary fiber art, special events, community outreach programming, and serves as a center for creative use for textile art supplies.
About the Role
The Development Coordinator (DC) will provide on-site support for TAC’s development functions, including working with TAC staff on donor database management, fundraising efforts, member and donor communications, and special member and donor events. The DC will assist with multi-channel (in-person, print, email, and social media) fundraising campaigns and membership drives; administrative tasks such as data management, data entry, and mailings; and event planning and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, developing, coordinating, and executing fundraising and membership campaigns and materials across multiple channels (in-person, email, print, and social media).
- Support membership renewal efforts.
- Maintain and update donor and member records in TAC’s database.
- Ensure timely processing of donations and membership transactions.
- Provide administrative support for data entry, list management, printing, and mailings.
- Support donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgments and other communications.
- Assist in organizing and implementing member and donor events, including logistics and on-site support.
- Track performance of fundraising and membership campaigns and activities, and event participation. Prepare reports or summaries related to donor/member activity and campaigns.
- Respond to donor/member inquiries or assist with customer service needs related to development activities
- Coordinate with TAC staff to align development activities with organizational priorities.
Note: Additional opportunities related to fiber art, exhibitions, and/or retail sales could be included in the position if time allows and if candidate has existing related expertise.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working in a nonprofit setting and/or familiarity with the development functions of a nonprofit organization.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Familiarity with donor database systems (or other CRMs). TAC uses Little Green Light as its donor database.
- Capable of working independently.
- Ability to multitask effectively in an environment with many possible things happening at once.
- Ability to work on-site at TAC. (TAC is located at 1702 South Park Street, and is directly on the Madison Metro “B” bus line and the Wingra Creek Bike Trail.)
- Must be able to work a minimum of half of the position’s 10 hours per week during regular “office hours” – Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
- General knowledge of and experience with a variety of fiber arts a plus.
