Prepress Technician

Design To Print is a growing grand format digital print company looking for enthusiastic and dedicated team players to join our Prepress/Graphics Team.

This is not a creative graphic design position, although experience with design programs is required. We work in a deadline-driven environment working on exciting global brand products, juggling multiple projects at a time. Our graphic prepress technicians are the key to remarkable finished products!

Prepress Technicians are responsible for processing all files to establish templates that ensure correct layout and correct die-cut measurements. We utilize Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

Primary responsibilities include prioritizing time-sensitive orders, reviewing, and resolving problem orders in a timely manner. Successful candidates focus on exceeding customer expectations through accuracy, efficiency, curiosity and knowledge.

This is an on-site position located in St. George, Utah.

Hours: 10 am - 7 pm, Monday - Friday (Work hours during training will be 9 am - 6 pm.)

Responsibilities:

  • Converting and preparing files received in various digital formats to different outputs for print production.
  • Verify and modify file image sizes
  • Execute, design, and layout projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Build proof images to illustrate how the files will print and for the client to proof for errors and potential print problems.
  • Offer graphic design ideas solutions and alternatives based on customer input.
  • Color “correct” and make similar recommendations/adjustments to print files per project requirements.
  • Be able to modify many file types and standardize source material.
  • Creating layouts and proofs for production or client when needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience and full working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and Illustrator a must! Color matching and profiling is a plus.
  • Experience with the following software is helpful: Caldera, Onyx, Pitstop, Switch, Numbers/Excel and Word/Pages.
  • Ability to work on a Mac OS.
  • Detail-oriented, organized with a strong ability to follow tasks through to completion.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
  • Able to work on multiple tasks/assignments concurrently.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to ask questions and be curious!
  • Solid work ethic with a positive attitude, used to being a contributing team player.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable and commensurate with experience.
