Mental Health Therapist - Bilingual

Job Title: Mental Health Therapist – Bilingual

Job Summary:

Mental Health Clinicians at JFS evaluate through psychosocial and family assessments, the social, emotional, interpersonal and environmental needs of clients.  The incumbent develops trusting therapeutic connections and provides culturally appropriate mental health and behavioral interventions.   MH Clinicians employ evidenced based interventions and are versatile to provide family and group therapies as appropriate.

 

The MH Clinician assesses, conceptualizes and skillfully engages with the client’s systems such as school and family.  He/she must also stay current on and be able to guide clients to community resources.  The incumbent exercises appropriate insight and knowledge of contemporary psychiatric evaluation when formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan.  He/she provides ongoing assessment of the client’s progress and treatment.   


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a mental health related field such as Psychology or Social Work from an accredited school 
  • License to practice mental health in New Jersey (LSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC)
  • Available to meet with clients on-site
  • Strong working knowledge of psychotherapy principles and practices
  • Knowledge of current DSM criteria and MH treatment modalities
  • Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish/English Fluency
