Job Summary
JCC Camp Ruach is committed to creating a positive, meaningful, inclusive, and FUN summer for campers and staff. Staff learn invaluable skills that are immediately transferable to all other aspects of their personal and professional life.

Responsibilities of Teen Travel Program Counselor

  • Oversee a group of 15-17 pre-teen and teen campers to ensure their safety, well-being, and active participation in all aspects of the travel program
  • Supervise campers while on-site and on day, one-night and week-long overnights (dependent on group assignment). Trip highlights include beach, amusement and water parks, climb zones, and more!
  • Participate in all activities with capers including sports, art, swim, and so much more
  • Serve as a role model and mentor while fostering positive relationships with campers and other staff
  • Create safe, loving, and inclusive environment
  • Collaborate and work along side other staff members
  • Have fun smiling and participating in activities with campers

Qualifications

  • 18+ and 21+ years old to work as Senior Travel Camp Counselor
  • Experience working with children in classroom or home settings with middle school age campers
  • Personal interest in and a passion for working with our oldest campers
  • Team Player
  • Certifications in first aid and CPR are preferred but not required; training may be provided.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Enthusiasm for outdoor activities

  • Compensation of $4000 inclusive of all summer responsibilities for a full-time travel camp counselor
