M&A Junior Analyst

SourceCo is looking for an ambitious and hardworking individual with a knowledge of finance to join our team as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) and M&A Analyst. In this hybrid role, you will be working with a team of experienced investment bankers and sales experts to help generate transaction opportunities for our clients, who are mainly private equity firms, family offices, and corporations. Your responsibilities will encompass both SDR and M&A analyst duties, making this an exciting and multifaceted position.

 

As an M&A analyst, your additional duties will include understanding a client's investment criteria, attaining industry knowledge over a short time period, and engaging with potential targets over the phone and via email. This role is one of the first touch points for targets and offers a hands-on experience with owners looking to sell their companies while getting exposure to the deal-making process. You will quickly have the ability to grow within the company and directly impact the company's success.

 

SDR Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing client investment strategies to identify new opportunities.
  • Responding to, engaging, and qualifying outbound targets.
  • Cold-calling targets based on their engagement, over 200 calls a day required
  • Keeping our CRM up to date with relevant information about targets.
  • Creation of external and internal weekly reports.
  • Conducting industry research based on the client's strategy.
  • Researching methods to engage clients and get them to respond through our outreach.
  • Collaborating closely with other teams to develop account intelligence, relationship maps, and use case opportunities through direct account engagement and insight tools.

 

Analyst Requirements:

  • Basic finance and business knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member, making outbound calls every day.
  • Having a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and make new connections with prospects.
  • Ability to learn how specific companies and industries function.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relations.
  • Competency in researching industries, creating reports, and developing client materials.
  • Ability to adapt to new software and technology.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The selected candidate would be a team player and a self-starter requiring minimal supervision.

 

$50,000–$55,000 base salary, plus an additional $15,000–$40,000 in performance-based commission.
