Community Partnership Manager

We have an employer at the Yard focused on bringing clean transportation to underserved communities. They empower fleet owners through EV financing, charging infrastructure, and mobility software tools. Currently, they are seeking to hire a Community Partnership Manager.

The Community Partnerships Manager (CPM) is the company's public face to community, workforce, and public-sector partners—and the engine behind partnership pathways that advance their  mission and drive measurable business and revenue outcomes. You will lead mid-funnel partnership and business development efforts, coordinate and fund programs and pilots, and convert engagement into funded initiatives, operator success, and growth.

This role blends strategy and execution: you will steward critical relationships, run high-impact programs, and build partnership opportunities that expand economic mobility and accelerate growth.

Note that while the team collaborates remotely, this is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role—based in Brooklyn and driving community engagement with partners across NYC.

***********MUST HAVE 5-7 YEARS IN COMMUNITY PARNERSHIP, PROGRAM MANAGEMENT OR IMPACT ORIENTED BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT***************

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build High-Impact Partnerships (60%):

  • Cultivate and manage relationships across fleet operators, workforce partners, community-based organizations, and city/state agencies that translate into funded pilots, customer acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Lead grant and RFP strategy — including opportunity scanning, concept development, teaming arrangement, and success criteria — to identify aligned funding pathways; support development of ensuing proposals.
  • Represent company at community meetings, operator forums, and public events that foster trust, share progress, and generate insights for program and partnership growth.

2. Execute & Scale Community Initiatives (30%):

  • Develop Community Engagement Roadmap — defining the strategy, framework, and tools for engaging operators, workforce partners, and community stakeholders to accelerate clean-mobility adoption.
  • Launch and scale community-focused programs and workforce initiatives with partners (e.g., HOPE Program, BWI, Green City Force, RETI Center) with clear milestones and business-model KPIs.
  • Lead program execution: scope alignment, stakeholder meetings, milestone tracking, and multi-funder compliance/reporting (NYSERDA, Empire State Development, Con Edison).

3. Elevate Brand Trust (10%):

  • Influence communication strategy to ensure alignment with engagement and partnership priorities.
  • Develop stories, data points, and insights that highlight community impact and strengthen trust with public partners.
  • Represent the company at events and public forums as a credible ambassador for clean mobility and community wealth-building — gathering feedback and elevating visibility.

Required Experience:

  • 5–7 years in community partnerships, program management, or impact-oriented business development.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain cross-sector partnerships (government, nonprofits, workforce, small businesses), especially those tied to funding or measurable business outcomes.
  • Grant/RFP experience — leading, strategizing, or overseeing opportunity identification, proposal development, and funding success.
  • Track record of designing, launching, and scaling community-focused programs, ideally in workforce development or public engagement.
  • Strong familiarity with NYC’s community, nonprofit, and government landscape (highly preferred).

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional communicator — strong writing, public speaking, and ability to shape messaging across channels.
  • Confident public representative able to engage diverse stakeholders, lead meetings/forums, and represent brand externally.
  • Strategic and organized operator who can prioritize, manage multiple workstreams, and align efforts to mission and growth goals.
  • Leadership mindset — proactive, accountable, able to work independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Deep passion for clean energy, mobility entrepreneurship, and equitable economic development, with an instinct for turning engagement into concrete action.
