INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:

 

Our internship program is a dynamic group of emerging, high potential rising university seniors who will have the opportunity to participate in a 10-week summer internship at the World’s Leading Fragrance Specialty Retailer. 

 

This internship will provide the opportunity for a comprehensive view of the various functional areas within specialty retail. You will have the opportunity to work along-side and learn from BBW associates who will provide training, development and engagement of your function and our Brand.

PROGRAM AREA: Information Technology 

 

Data Engineering Intern

This position is within the Bath & Body Works Data Services Team, responsible for data engineering processes supporting Analytics and Reporting solutions. This individual will be part of a team to design and build data pipelines into our data platforms that meets business requirements. This position will also be help execute the strategic roadmap towards a cloud data platform. 

 

Our 10-week internship experience will provide the opportunity for a comprehensive learning experience focusing on developing the technology and process skills to be a successful data engineer.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

As a Data Engineering Intern, you will learn and apply various tasks and processes, including, but not limited to:

  • Support the Data Engineering team in designing and building effective and efficient data pipelines for ingestion and analytics.
  • Work with product owners, data analysts and data engineers to understand data requirements.
  • Complete deliverables as assigned by phase, iteration, or sprint. 
  • Identify opportunities and build solutions to optimize data processing, improve data quality and reduce failures.
  • Follow established procedures in building solutions and provide general maintenance and operational support. 
  • Leverage technical knowledge and training to assist application teams in identification and resolution of issues.
  • Be curious and creatively look for opportunities to leverage innovative technology as well as optimize processes and methodologies.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University current juniors pursuing their bachelor’s degree and in good academic standing
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week during summer 2025
    • May 26th-July 31st (required dates) No extended PTO
  • Self-motivated, flexible, innate curiosity and desire to learn
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player; leading, thinking outside the box, encouraging group consensus, and recommending the best solution.
  • Basic Scripting experience such as Bash, Python
  • Conceptual understanding of relational databases and basic experience in SQL
  • Excellent Verbal and Written skills
  • Retail experience is a plus.
