Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant

P.T. Services is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our pediatric team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions that help children improve mobility, strength, coordination, and overall physical function. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with children and families to achieve developmental milestones and enhance quality of life.  This position is can be either a full or part time position.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current State of Ohio Physical Therapy Assistant License
  • Valid CPR Certification or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Experience working with pediatric populations (preferred but not required).

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist for pediatric patients.
  • Assist in therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to improve motor skills, balance, and strength.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate families and caregivers on home exercise programs and strategies to support therapy goals.
  • Maintain a safe and engaging environment for pediatric patients during therapy sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards in patient care.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Competent use of computer systems.
  • Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 Coding.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage children and families.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies
  • A calm manner and patience working with patients and their families
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Knowledge of insurance guidelines including but not limited to HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid,
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
