About The Role
The Therapeutic Area Communications intern will support the US communications team in developing and executing impactful communications across all key disease areas, including oncology, immunology, cardiovascular disease and neuroscience. This internship will offer hands-on experience in healthcare communications, an opportunity to learn about pharmaceutical market dynamics, and contribute to projects that inform and engage patient and healthcare professional stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and distribution of communications materials (e.g., press releases, social media posts, owned written and video content, internal newsletters)
- Help monitor media coverage and compile reports on communications activities
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to support campaign planning
- Conduct research on market trends, audience insights, and communications best practices
- Support campaigns that engage patient advocacy groups and medical experts
- Help organize and document communications initiatives and events
- Support the company's participation in events, conferences and internal programs
- Support collaboration with cross-functional internal teams, including preparation for meetings, business reviews

Minimum Requirements
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a U.S. accredited degree-granting college or university pursuing an undergraduate degree. Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications, English, Public Affairs, or related fields of study are preferred.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and able to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
- Have a high degree of organizational skills, including attention to detail and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Have an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Please note that this internship is a fixed-term engagement and does not constitute an offer of employment from Novartis. Magnit, an external Managed Service Provider, will facilitate the hiring and management for this role.
