About the role
Support company culture initiatives, employee engagement, and event coordination as a key member of the HR team on a part-time schedule (typically 20–25 hours/week).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and execute company events, team-building activities, and wellness initiatives.
- Get to know our team and help maintain a positive, inclusive work culture.
- Assist with onboarding and orientation for new hires, reinforcing company values and culture.
- Support routine HR administration such as scheduling, employee record management, and answering HR-related inquiries.
- Oversee general office management duties for our small office in DUMBO.
- Contribute to various projects and other culture-focused initiatives as needed.
- Drive the employee experience for our on-site and remote teams, shaping and driving initiatives that foster engagement, delight, and belonging.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, coursework, or relevant internship experience in Human Resources, business, communications, or related fields. Equivalent practical experience and an eagerness to learn are valued.
- Experience or strong interest in supporting positive workplace culture, team engagement, and/or planning events—open to candidates building these skills professionally.
- Energetic, enthusiastic presence with a genuine passion for connecting people and building inclusive environments.
- Exceptional communication skills with the confidence to engage all levels of the organization, listen actively, and bring forward creative culture ideas.
- Organized and resourceful; able to take initiative, keep track of details, and manage simple projects with guidance as needed.
- Strong service mindset and adaptability when assisting colleagues or solving day-to-day office challenges.
- Comfortable learning new technology tools; experience with Google Workspace or HR systems is a plus, but not required.
Block wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development. The initial salary for this position is expected to range from $20-$25 hourly for a NY-based position. Actual compensation will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
