Environmental Education Intern-Alapocas Run and Wilmington State Parks
As a part of our Programming Team you will be working providing onsite and outreach programs to visitors of all ages. In this position interns will be working with staff to become actively engaged in resource-based educational program delivery, research, and coordination.
Interns will also participate in intern-wide professional development activities and experiential learning opportunities that may require them to be off-site or away from their placement. Each intern will complete a personalized “demonstration of learning” project. At the conclusion of the internship, all interns will present their projects during a poster session for peers and Delaware State Parks staff.
LOCATION Alapocas Run and Wilmington State Parks
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist Interpretive Program Manager and/or Lead Naturalist with implementation of environmental education, interpretive programming, concerts and special events
• Interact with program participants of all ages, answering questions, assisting with activities, and ensuring participation opportunity for all attendees
• Help gather or create program materials and assist in set up and clean-up.
• May lead program or subset of program participants.
• Maintain attendance tracking of program participants.
• May perform program research and design of new programs.
• Collaborate with other ARSP/WSP interns to complete summer project.
• Complete demonstration of learning project based on agreed upon topic.
• Other tasks as assigned and agreed upon.
