Legal Assistant Paralegal

RMI is a boutique law firm located in Seville, Ohio (Medina County), serving the insurance industry. Our clients have entrusted their subrogation needs to our firm for 35+ years. Position (Full-Time):

This position will serve as a legal assistant/paralegal for Attorneys who focus on large property losses (fires, explosions, water failures, etc.) Pay to commensurate with experience level.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Accurate and efficient data entry into internal and external systems;

· Ability to scan, organize and file documents;

· Conduct Research on legal topics and/or court requirements

· Assist with discovery, trial, deposition and motion preparation

· Monitor case statuses and verify service of documents and filings

· Ability to navigate court websites and obtain pertinent information a plus;

· Ability to understand / use court websites for efiling a plus;

· Understanding or past work in insurance or legal office a plus;

· Knowledge of legal pleadings, complaints, service of process a plus;

· Ability to discern / verify address information;

· Handling incoming/outgoing mail;

· Integrity to maintain sensitive and confidential information;

· Ability to meet deadlines;

· Ability to speak with courts, clients, insureds, carriers, defendants in respectful manner, even under difficult circumstances;

· Word processing / typing at least 40 words/minute;

· Complete other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications include:

· Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certificate preferred

· Must be able to take/pass a background check

· In-office work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday (no nights, no weekends) (this is not a remote position)

· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office;

· Problem solving, critical thinking, and time management skills

· Ability to operate (or learn to operate) computer applications and custom software

· Work well independently or in a team environment

· Detail oriented and able to multi-task
