Part-Time or Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant

We are looking for a part-time OR full-time physical therapist assistant to join our growing family! We are open to input regarding weekly schedule and hours for the right candidate. Job Purpose: Examine and evaluate, restore patients function, alleviate pain, and prevent disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed and hands-on physical therapy.

Physical Therapist Assistant Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Meets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting examinations and test results; following physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physical therapists, physicians, and by prescription.
  • Helps patient accomplish treatment plan by administering manual therapy; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as therapeutic exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities and in using assistive devices, such as crutches and canes.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of physical therapy treatments by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending, adjusting, and modifying.
  • Completes treatment and discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences.
  • Assures continuation of therapeutic plan during treatment and following discharge by designing individualized home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending follow-up programs.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
