Middle School English/Language Arts Teacher

POSITION:  English/Language Arts Teacher at Grayling Middle School with a $8,000 new hire bonus.

INFORMATION: Located in Grayling, Michigan -- the county seat of Crawford County in the middle of Northern Michigan -- CASD operates three schools that serve over 1,600 students in preschool through grade 12.  CASD and our individual schools have received numerous awards over the last several years.  We are seeking an energetic, professional candidate to join our school     family.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Applicants must possess a valid Michigan secondary teaching certificate to teach middle school English/Language Arts. Additional endorsement areas are desirable.  Applicants must be able to apply current educational research to design and implement an effective curriculum, use technology and research-based teaching strategies to develop effective activities, and assessments that improve student performance in ELA/literacy.  Applicants must use effective classroom management techniques to maintain a quality learning environment and must be willing to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.  Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job duty.

SALARY:  According to the terms of the Master Agreement.
