Maintenance Specialist – Streets and Parks
The City of Powell is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team! This position plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the City's infrastructure, parks, and facilities. Hours
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
- Occasional weekend hours and availability to work special events.
Starting Salary
- $29.37 per hour (Step 1)
- Opportunity to progress to $35.07 per hour (Step 4) under current contract.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform construction, maintenance, and repair tasks across City properties, including streets, parks, and storm sewers.
- Operate a variety of equipment, such as dump trucks, tractors, backhoes, and mowers.
- Conduct snow and ice control, including operating dump trucks with plows and spreaders.
- Handle miscellaneous tasks like relocating furniture, minor electrical repairs, and hanging pictures.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance and routine equipment adjustments.
- Trim trees, restore parks, install and maintain signs and streetlights, and perform landscaping tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of or willingness to obtain a valid commercial driver’s license, State of Ohio (Class “B”) CDL with airbrake endorsement.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining equipment like mowers, snowplows, tractors, and backhoes.
- Basic knowledge of groundskeeping, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
