Supervisor's Office Intern
Macomb Township is seeking a current college student pursuing political science/public administration to support operations across core municipal operations throughout Macomb Township. This internship is one that is education-based and will provide a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in small government practices. The internship starts May 26th, 2026, and concludes August 7th, 2026, and will consist of 1-3 days per week. This position is based in the Macomb Township Supervisor's Office and will be fully in-person.
Through this internship, interns will receive thorough experience in a wide variety of government sectors which include Human Resources, Clerk's Office, Finance, Treasurer's Office, Assessing, Parks & Recreation, Fire Department, Department of Public Works, Planning, Engineering, Building & Code Enforcement, and the opportunity to shadow the Township Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Current college student pursuing a degree in public administration and/or political science.
- Demonstrates interest in public administration and political science.
Internship Goals:
- Gain hands-on learning experience through working with core municipal operations.
- Build an understanding of municipal government functions and community engagement.
- Develop professional skills in organizational planning and leadership.
