Overtime Athletics Nashville
Pay: $20–$25/hr to start • Up to $30/hr for returning/experienced coaches
Schedule: 2–3 afternoons/week (typically between 2:00–5:30pm)
About the Role
Overtime Athletics (OTA) Nashville is seeking enthusiastic, responsible instructors to lead after-school sports programs for students in Pre-K through 5th grade. This role is ideal for former athletes, current student-athletes, fitness-oriented students, and anyone who enjoys coaching, staying active, and working with kids in a structured, positive environment.
This is more than a part-time job. It offers meaningful coaching and leadership experience, direct work with children, and real skills that support future careers in coaching, education, sports management, fitness, psychology, or youth development.

Competitive Pay Structure

Responsibilities
- Lead or assist after-school sports programs for Pre-K through 5th grade
- Facilitate warm-ups, sport-specific skill activities, games, and scrimmages using OTA curriculum
- Maintain positive energy, clear communication, and smooth transitions throughout each session
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants
- Arrive 15 minutes before class for setup and remain 15 minutes after for dismissal
- Manage groups of 10–20 students, typically grouped by K–2 or 3–5
- Collaborate with another instructor (lead + assistant model)
- Communicate effectively with the Program Director, school staff, and families
- Follow OTA program structure, safety guidelines, and professionalism standards
- Maintain and transport your assigned OTA equipment bag
- Attend mandatory training sessions and periodic staff meetings
Qualifications
- High energy, enthusiastic, empathetic; able to lead active groups
- Experience working with children (coaching, camps, babysitting, mentoring, etc.)
- Comfortable leading activities in an athletic or recreational setting
- Basic knowledge of common sports; OTA provides curriculum and training
- Reliable transportation (mileage not reimbursed)
- Weekday afternoon availability
- Strong professionalism, punctuality, reliability, and patience
- Ability to pass a background check
Work Environment
- Part-time: 2–3 afternoons per week
- Approximately 1.5 hours of work per scheduled day (setup, class, dismissal)
- Programs held in school gyms, fields, and multipurpose rooms
- Structured, upbeat, sports-focused programming designed for skill-building and fun
- All equipment provided
