Assistant Professor of Computer Science

The department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Randolph College invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor of Computer Science to begin in August 2026. 


 

We welcome applicants from a variety of subfield backgrounds in computer science, but would be especially enthusiastic about candidates with teaching and research experience in cybersecurity. Our new cybersecurity program has attracted wide student interest, and we are dedicated to offering a comprehensive approach that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills essential for a diverse professional opportunities in cybersecurity, as well as pathways for advanced studies in the field. 


Randolph prioritizes teaching excellence. Primary responsibilities also include engaging in scholarly activities, serving on college committees, participating in college service, and assisting in the academic advising. The teaching load is six courses per academic year, three per semester. The College divides each semester into two seven-week sessions. Opportunities for new course development are available. The successful candidate shall hold a Ph.D. or ABD with an expected completion date prior to July 2026, in computer science, cybersecurity or a related field and be willing and able to teach a range of undergraduate computer science courses
