Job Title: Graduate Student Assistant (IT and Web Analyst)

Performs various duties as assigned – examples of projects:

  • Assist with website maintenance and updates, specifically using WordPress.
  • Provide routine technical support, including user account management, access provisioning, and password resets.
  • Assist with systems administration, including virtual machine (VM) management and monitoring.
  • Assist with the timely application of security patches to servers, workstations, and applications to remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Assist with basic network administration and troubleshooting to ensure connectivity and stability.
  • Assist with the creation of process flowcharts, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.

 

Other duties as assigned:

  • Assist with IT hardware/software inventory and setup.
  • Performs various IT and web-related duties as assigned.

 

This position has the potential to extend past the 2026 Spring semester.

 

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be a student currently enrolled in a graduate program and eligible to hold a student job.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with a professional office environment.
  • Have flexible availability to work part-time hours.
  • Eagerness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with web technologies, ideally including WordPress.
  • Basic understanding of IT support procedures (e.g., user accounts, password resets).
  • Familiarity with basic network concepts and IT security principles (e.g., patching).
  • Hands-on experience with virtual machines (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) from coursework or personal projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
