State Administrative Manager 15; Budget and Purchasing Division

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for public finance and innovation? The Michigan Department of Treasury is seeking a dynamic Budget Manager to lead our Budget Division. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive the department’s budget development and financial reporting processes, oversee the Budget Management Section, and champion continuous improvement in budget operations. 

You’ll play a critical role in managing and monitoring IT-related expenditures—including the substantial Interdepartmental Grant (IDG) for IT—ensuring alignment between financial planning and the department’s broad portfolio of technology initiatives. This position also serves as a key liaison with the State Budget Office, legislative fiscal agencies, and the Michigan Legislature on budgetary matters.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience
Note: A position is considered professional if the job requires a bachelor's degree. Qualifying ‘professional experience’ is only taken into consideration post-bachelor’s degree.

Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Alternate Education and Experience

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
