As the Senior Accountant, you would be responsible for the accurate and timely close of the general ledger each month as according to GAAP. This leadership role also requires supervision, mentoring, and monitoring the advancement of staff accountants, responsibility for The Capital Spend, and presenting monthly financial statements to the Senior Finance Management team. Our Senior Accountants assume a high level of responsibility and integrity within Main Line Health!

  • Position-Specific Details include: This position falls within the Financial Reporting - Accounting/Auditing department, which focuses heavily on accounting related to real estate, fixed assets, capital, and inventory. The role requires close collaboration with other departments, project management responsibilities, and time spent on-site at our hospitals to understand processes, connect with teams, and identify opportunities to improve workflows. Given the level of cross-department interaction, the person who will thrive in this role is someone who is proactive, comfortable engaging with others, and confident stepping out from behind the desk. Strong attention to detail is essential, but so is the ability to build relationships, communicate effectively and actively seek out information. This role is unique in comparison to a "traditional" accounting role!

    Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of immediate experience as an accountant, preferably in healthcare.
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred, along with personal computer software applications.
  • Education:

    Bachelors Degree in Accounting is required.

    Licensures/Certifications:

    Progress towards the completion of an MBA degree or CPA certification preferred.
