Job Title: Teacher Assistant
Reports To: Principal, Lead Teacher

As our Teacher Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting the classroom teacher and helping provide a strong spiritual, academic, and social foundation for each child. You will be responsible for:

  • Support the lead teacher in creating and maintaining a safe, caring, and Christ-honoring classroom environment.
  • Assist with implementing age-appropriate lessons in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and Bible instruction.
  • Help prepare classroom materials, centers, and learning activities as directed by the teacher.
  • Model Christ-like behavior and help integrate Biblical truth into classroom routines and interactions.
  • Support the social, emotional, and spiritual development of students through structured activities and guided play.
  • Assist with monitoring student progress through observation and documentation; share insights with the classroom teacher.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and provide additional support.
  • Communicate positively and professionally with parents, always in partnership with the lead teacher.
  • Help supervise students during lunch, recess, transitions, specials, and field trips.
  • Assist with co-curricular activities, special events, awards programs, and classroom celebrations.
  • Participate in staff devotions, meetings, and professional development as required.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset, receiving feedback with humility and enthusiasm.
  • Support and uphold school policies, procedures, and values in alignment with the mission of the school.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Prior experience working with young children in a school, ministry, or childcare setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take direction, work as part of a team, and maintain a positive, flexible attitude.
  • Passion for Christian education and a commitment to nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.
  • Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening (required).
