Environmental Education Intern-Killens Pond State Park

The Killens Pond Environmental Education intern will have the chance to be fully involved in environmental education and interpretation at Killens Pond State Park. The Environmental Education intern will assist in leading public programs, including kayak programs, nature hikes, live reptile and amphibian programs, and more. and get experience. This position will assist in the care of the animal ambassadors that are at the Killens Pond Nature Center. Other duties will include speaking with the public, cleaning the nature center, and developing educational programs on topics of their choice.

Interns will also participate in intern-wide professional development activities and experiential learning opportunities that may require them to be off-site or away from their placement. Each intern will complete a personalized “demonstration of learning” project. At the conclusion of the internship, all interns will present their projects during a poster session for peers and Delaware State Parks staff.
