Health Science Internship – Bengali-Speaking College Students
MAP-CH: Mother's Action Project for Child Health  

About the Internship
This Spring, the Culture Health lab is recruiting Bengali-speaking college students to join MAP-CH, a community-based public health intervention aimed at improving nutrition and oral health among Bangladeshi families in New York City. Interns will gain hands-on experience in community health research, data collection, and health education while working closely with local families and community health professionals.

Eligibility Requirements
• Fluent in Bangla
• Strong interest in public health, immigrant health, nutrition, oral health, or related fields
• Strong ties to the NYC Bangladeshi community
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• College student (undergraduate or graduate)

Program Details
• Duration: 8 weeks (Spring semester)
• Location: Weekly in-person meeting in Brooklyn (lunch provided)
• Format: Hybrid – remaining work completed remotely or in the field
• Compensation: Stipend provided at the end of the program
 

Ideal Candidates
This internship is ideal for students interested in public health, medicine, community health research, or working with immigrant communities. Students with strong connections to the Bangladeshi community are strongly encouraged to apply.

Expected: $100-150 stipend (Received upon completion of the project)
