Pediatric Speech Therapist

Small Talk Pediatric Therapy is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist who is passionate about working with pediatric population, is driven to learn and grow with a team to provide the best care possible. As a Pediatric Speech Therapist, you will play a critical role in helping children develop effective communication and language skills. You'll work with children who have speech, language, and communication disorders, providing assessments, therapeutic interventions, and support to improve their ability to communicate and interact effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose speech and language disorders in children, taking into account their age, development, and individual needs.

Treatment Planning: Develop customized treatment plans for each child, setting clear goals and objectives, in consultation with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.

Speech and Language Therapy: Provide individual or group therapy sessions to children, using various techniques and exercises to improve speech articulation, language comprehension and expression, and overall communication skills.

Early Intervention: Work with infants and young children to address speech and language delays and provide early intervention services to optimize development.

Communication Devices: Recommend, implement, and train children to use augmentative and alternative communication devices (AAC) when necessary.

Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and document a child's progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure ongoing development.

Collaboration: Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to ensure consistency in a child's treatment plan and to provide guidance on speech and language support in various settings.

Education: Educate parents, caregivers, and teachers on strategies to support a child's speech and language development and facilitate carryover of therapy goals.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and other relevant documentation.Qualifications required:

  • ASHA certification
  • State of Idaho SLP Licensure (or willing to obtain if moving from out of state)
  • Masters degree
