Overview
Scribe is seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) Publishing Assistant to support our ever-growing mission-driven program and help advance our client offerings. Success in this role requires excellent communication and language skills, adaptability, and a transparent and collaborative work ethic. This position offers opportunities for growth. As experience and proficiency in our workflow are gained, the position will afford greater responsibilities in sales initiatives, project acquisitions, and client management.
The ability to use computers efficiently and the capacity to develop technical skills are essential.
Duties
- Assist with sales, client relationships, bids, and other activities
- Work on all aspects of the project-acquisition process
- Assist in editorial, production, design, marketing, publicity, and accounting as needed
- Help develop and update promotional and marketing materials, including the website
- Manage social media content across platforms
- Maintain records in customer relationship management (CRM) software
- Attend meetings, maintain agendas, and ensure follow-up
- Coordinate project bids and proposals
- Communicate with authors, agents, suppliers, and other partners
- Process book orders and income/expense invoices
- Coordinate print orders
- Coordinate and report sales/distribution activities
- Help research publishing developments and opportunities
Training will be provided for the position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
- Desire to apply skills and grow within the publishing industry
- Thorough mastery of English and Spanish
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Focused, highly organized, detail-oriented personality
- Solid computer skills (knowledge of HTML is preferred)
