Part-Time Director of Youth Ministry

First Baptist Church of Athens, GA, seeks an energetic and relational individual to oversee all weekly and special events for youth aged 7th through 12th grades. Our church provides spiritual development opportunities for youth on Sunday mornings and evenings each week. The youth group size is fifteen students. We have a host of adult volunteers already in place for programs. There is potential for a full-time position with additional responsibilities directing children’s ministries. First Baptist Athens is affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. 

  • Communicate effectively with youth, through modeling and teaching, what it looks like to love Jesus
  • Work to build relationships with youth
  • Plan and lead the evening youth activity each Sunday
  • Take youth on overnight trips (average one weekend trip per semester)
  • Coordinate volunteers for Sunday programming (Sunday school and evening activity)
  • Plan a fun group activity for the youth each month 
  • Purchase and disperse curriculum/supplies for Sunday school classes 
  • Share monthly calendar and information with youth parents 
  • Communicate regularly with Director of Music regarding Youth Choir opportunities
