Summary:

Provide modeling, coaching, and technical assistance to preschool learning and enrichment staff regarding social, emotional, and behavioral strategies. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide social emotional behavioral support to classrooms for children transitioning from the universal preschool learning and enrichment classrooms.
  • Provide classroom coverage in learning classrooms so ECSE teachers can visit universal preschool enrichment classrooms in which a shared student is in the Learning and Enrichment classroom to provide coaching and modeling opportunities to help children with disabilities transition between the two classrooms.
  • Provide professional learning to staff in Learning and Enrichment universal preschool classrooms.
  • Support the Student Support Plan MTSS process for children in the Learning and Enrichment universal preschool classrooms.
  • Provide collaboration time with Enrichment or Learning staff on Wednesday’s as needed. This could be done in collaboration with the service providers to consult during this time.
  • Provide support with the Special Education Department Specialist referral process of students in the enrichment program.
  • Attend and participate in all of the ECSE Teacher meetings, Preschool Learning and Enrichment professional learning.
  • Attend and participate in the Early Childhood Education Leadership and Community Schools Enrichment team meetings.
  • Attend Learning and Enrichment enrollment Location Committee meetings as needed to provide input on the classrooms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

Required:

 

 

  • Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with appropriate endorsement in: Early Childhood Special Education (must upload license or in process documentation to application).
  • Minimum of three years experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Completed and submitted BVSD online application.
  • The READ Act SB 19-199 (PDF) and SB22-004 (PDF) requires that all Colorado teachers who provide literacy instruction to students must earn a “READ Act Designation” by meeting specific requirements.
