Planning Services Supervisor
Join the City of Oshkosh as a Planning Services Supervisor. The position provides principal-level professional planning leadership; supervises division workflow and staff; coordinates planning activities with other City departments and external partners; administers and enforces zoning and other land use regulations; and oversees the City’s comprehensive planning, development assistance, and development review programs and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning Division Supervision and Administration: Supervise the Planning Services Division, overseeing staff, recruiting, training, and budgeting, while preparing work programs aligned with the City's Strategic Plan. In addition, provide policy and legislative guidance.

Project Management: Manage large-scale planning projects, consulting with stakeholders on land use and providing expert ordinance interpretation. Serve as project manager for special initiatives directed by city leadership.
- Plan Creation and Implementation: Draft policy recommendations and maintain awareness of zoning laws. Direct staff to develop and maintain the City Comprehensive Plan, neighborhood plans, housing plan, preservation plans, redevelopment plans, and urban design strategies.
- Boards and Commissions: Coordinate and provide professional staff support for the Plan Commission, Sustainability Advisory Board, Board of Appeals, Landmarks Commission, and other boards and committees of the department and City.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Studies or a related field.
- Five (5) or more years of experience performing responsible and varied professional community development planning work; prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification preferred.
