Impact & Grants Intern – Independent Feature Film

🌟 POSITION OVERVIEW

Hemmy Productions is seeking a mission-driven, detail-oriented Impact & Grants Intern to support the grant and impact-funding pipeline for our independent feature film For Love of the American Dream β€” a story centered on immigration, identity, and the pursuit of opportunity in America.

This is a real-world, hands-on opportunity for students interested in film producing, nonprofit work, arts funding, DEI initiatives, and social impact storytelling.

⚠️ IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION (Please Read Before Applying)

This is NOT a finance, accounting, or investor-outreach role.
You will NOT be pitching to investors, negotiating funds, or working with ROI models.

This role is strictly focused on:
βœ… Grant research
βœ… Impact-fund proposal preparation
βœ… DEI & community-outreach documentation

All final submissions are reviewed and approved by the producer before being sent.

βœ… WHAT YOU WILL DO

Research private impact funds, foundations, and arts grants

Track deadlines and eligibility in a shared grant spreadsheet

Draft application materials including:

Project summaries

DEI & impact statements

Community outreach descriptions

Identify which grants:

Require a nonprofit partner

Can be submitted directly by a for-profit production

Prepare applications for producer review

Submit applications only after approval

Provide brief weekly progress updates

❌ WHAT YOU WILL NOT DO

No investor pitching

No financial forecasting

No term sheets or equity work

No fundraising calls

No negotiations of any kind

This is grant writing + impact research, not finance.

Nonprofit Management

Social Impact / Public Policy

Film & Media Studies (Producing track)

Communications, Journalism, or English

Arts Administration

Sociology / Cultural Studies

Strong writing skills

Organized and detail-oriented

Comfortable with Google Docs & Sheets

Interest in social impact, film, or nonprofit work

Reliable weekly availability

βœ… Preferred (Not Required):

Prior nonprofit or grant research experience

DEI, community service, or advocacy background

Film, media, or arts experience
