Elementary Special Education Teacher

  • Teach all courses to elementary school special education students (grades K-6), instructing through lectures, demonstrations and audio-visual aids. 
  • Participate in the Admission, Review, Dismissal (ARD) and Individual Education Plan (IEP) Committee to assist with interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students according to district procedure. 
  • Prepare course objectives and outlines following curriculum guidelines, assign lessons, correct homework, administer tests, record test results, issue reports to parents, maintain score records, meet with parents to discuss student progress, and participate in faculty meetings, teacher workshops and educational conferences.

 

Requirements: 

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any field. 
  • Must have a valid Texas Educator Certificate in Special Education.
