Construction Technology Intern
Position Summary:
Join a dynamic Construction Technology team at a leading mechanical contractor. You won’t just be pushing paper—you’ll assist in managing the complex digital environments (Autodesk Revit & Autodesk Fabrication) that drive our fabrication shops and field installation. This is a hands-on role that bridges the gap between digital design and physical construction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist the CT team in maintaining and updating the Autodesk Fabrication database (ITM content).
· Ensure digital components align with real-world specifications used in manufacturing.
· Support troubleshooting, documenting, and improving workflows between Revit, Fabrication CADmep/ESTmep, Stratus, and other Construction Technology tools.
· Help create and/or maintain dashboards (e.g., PowerBI) to track project progress, team workload, fabrication status, and software usage analytics.
· Review digital models for accuracy and data integrity to ensure seamless transitions from VDC modeling to fabrication and field installation.
· Assist in testing new software patches, add-ins, and features before rollout to the broader VDC/BIM team.
· Document findings and support implementation.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:
· Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related technical field.
· Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Fabrication, or Stratus is highly preferred.
· Experience with CADmep, ESTmep, or CAMduct is a significant plus.
· Basic knowledge of databases or experience with tools like PowerBI is beneficial.
· Understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing) or a strong willingness to learn how systems are modeled, fabricated, and installed.
· A natural “tinkerer” who enjoys diagnosing issues, exploring software behavior, and figuring out why things don’t work as expected.
