Art Instructor
We are looking for experienced and creative individuals as Art Instructors, to join our inclusive art studio, who are passionate for the fine arts and enthusiastic for education. Our instructors and staff work together to establish inclusive learning environments for student artists of all ages and disabilities.. This is done by expanding the playing field: providing multiple pathways for a student’s expressions and actions and presenting information in a variety of formats. Adaptations are flexible and tailored to everyone’s needs to make content accessible in a meaningful way.
Instructors are responsible for teaching youth and adult students who are living with a disability or challenge and directing participation in all aspects of specified mediums, which may include (but are not limited to): ceramics, painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, encaustics, and fiber. Instructors also participate in exhibitions, galleries, and art shows to promote and sell student artwork.
Qualifications and Essential Job Functions
- Candidate must have an MFA with teaching experience or equivalent relevant mastery and experience.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating diverse art styles, ability, and experience.
- High level of creativity and artistic skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for student interactions and collaborations.
- Flexibility to adapt to various artistic styles and project requirements.
- Ability to mentor and work with students from diverse backgrounds.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to create and submit written lesson plans for Education Director approval.
- Excellent punctuality, preparedness, and flexibility.

- Ability to maintain a healthy, organized and well-functioning studio in a shared workspace.
General physical requirements
- Mobility: Standing, walking, and sitting for long periods; occasional stooping, kneeling, or squatting.
- Strength: Regularly lifting and moving up to 10 pounds, with the ability to occasionally lift to 25 pounds for tasks like moving supplies or equipment.
- Dexterity: Fine manipulation and coordination, using hands for fine detail work such as demonstrations or grading and to operate classroom tools and computers.
- Vision: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus are required to work with a visual medium.
