Duties:
Analyze and identify security flaws in UCOR’s I.T. ecosystem by reviewing scan data and consulting the NIST vulnerability database. Prioritize remediations based on severity ranking systems such as CVSS and NIST. Collaborate with Infrastructure, Networking, and Development teams to implement patches and other remediation measures. Contact end users to notify them of security flaws on their devices. Track remediation efforts, per vulnerability, and report on effectiveness. Assist in the automation of remediation efforts. Communicate vulnerability impacts to non-technical audiences. Assist in preparing detailed reports on vulnerability findings and technical documents, such as POA&M (Plans Of Action & Management) or risk acceptance. Research emerging threats and determine their impact to UCOR’s systems as well as the impact of their remediation.
Job-Related Qualifications Required:
Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work well with others from varying backgrounds
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work well under a moderate stress level
- Ability to follow complex flows of logic, such as computer programming or scripting across multiple systems
- Strong customer service skills
- Understanding of application, network, and operating systems security
- Proficiency with standard troubleshooting methodologies and processes
- Basic understanding of enterprise Information Technology (Concepts, Acronyms, Processes, and differences from a SoHo network)
The 2026 UCOR Summer Internship Program is a 12-week program held from late May to early August. You must be able to be onsite for the entire internship program.
