ARRAY Releasing Intern (Spring 2026)
SUMMARY:
We are looking for dedicated, "can-do" types to work alongside our independent film distribution team at our arts and advocacy collective, ARRAY. ARRAY is passionate about amplifying content centered on dynamic social justice themes created by Black artists, people of color and women of all kinds. We seek an intern who is curious, resourceful and energized by the independent film landscape. The ideal candidate will be proactive and able to jump in and perform any task that is needed. If you are familiar with the term "elbow grease" and know how to apply that to a work environment, then ARRAY might be the place for you.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research major and independent film festivals and track relevant award-winning films and trends
- Identify up-and-coming filmmakers, especially women and people of color, whose work aligns with ARRAY’s mission
- Compile and maintain a national list of screening venues, art houses, community theaters and alternative exhibition partners for potential ARRAY Releasing opportunities
- Support the development, organization and upkeep of internal databases for festivals, filmmakers and venues
- Assist with administrative duties for ARRAY Releasing and special projects as assigned
- Support the team with general distribution-related tasks and other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school with experience and/or coursework in Writing, Communications, Film, Media Studies, a combination of these areas or similar fields
- This internship must be eligible for academic credit
- Strong interest in film festivals, independent cinema and discovering emerging talent
- A desire to grow in the distribution, development or production side of entertainment
- Eager to learn and be proactive with new tasks and share opinions and ideas
- Ability to manage many administrative tasks at once and take initiative to organize incoming data, documents, emails and sensitive information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong research abilities and attention to detail
- Familiarity with the indie film ecosystem, festival circuits or artist-driven media is a plus
