Cross Country Education is actively seeking a highly skilled Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) to join a pivotal high school team in Laveen, AZ, for the '25–'26 school year. This is your chance to lead high-impact behavioral interventions, transforming student futures and fostering a positive school culture!

Position Overview:

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and participate as a member of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team to develop, implement, and monitor Functional Behavior Plans (FBPs).
  • Collaborate and consult with campus staff, parents, and intervention teams regarding student behavior to modify classroom instruction, coordinate school and home interventions, and make recommendations for student placement and program development.
  • Provide in-service training to general and special education staff on positive behavior strategies and effective intervention techniques to build campus-wide capacity for behavior management.
  • Maintain comprehensive logs of all student and staff contacts, detailing the interventions employed and the resulting outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree (Required)
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (Required)
  • Valid Arizona Professional Certification in one of the following: Special Education, School Psychology, School Counseling, or Social Work (Required)
  • Proven experience delivering behavioral interventions or support to high school students who exhibit challenging behaviors (Highly Preferred)
