Faraday Technology, Inc., a subsidiary of Physical Sciences Inc., is looking for a Principal Engineer/Scientist to support electrochemical science and engineering process and product development for government and commercial applications. Candidates are sought to work within the Faraday team to develop and commercialize innovative electrochemical science and engineering systems in areas including, but not limited to: deposition and forming, surface treatment and finishing, energy storage and conversion, remediation and recycling technologies. Candidates should have an understanding of electrochemistry as well as hands-on experience in an R&D environment. COMSOL modeling of electrochemical applications and battery experience are also of interest. Candidates will work full-time at the facility in Englewood, OH.
Responsibilities will include:
- Support government and commercial proposal efforts to find opportunities for development of new technologies and maturation of existing technologies.
- Lead development programs from technical and programmatic standpoints to deliver high quality solutions to the customer.
- Interact with customers to develop engineering specifications based on customer/application requirements.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate technology performance meets customer requirements. This will include bench-scale to pilot-scale research and development. Summarize and communicate program progress and key results both internally and externally.
- Prepare technical program reports and presentations. Travel to present at conferences and meetings.
Candidates should have at minimum a PhD Degree (or Master’s with 2+ years’ experience) in Electrochemical or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or related field. Candidates should demonstrate an extensive background in experimental design and hands-on data collection and analysis, with experience in customer interface. Excellent English written and oral communication skills are required.
