Highly Qualified Aide
POSITION: Highly Qualified Aide - Elementary
POSITION BEGINNING: 2025-2026 Contractual Year
REPORTS TO: Elementary School Building Principal
SALARY: Per MESPA Bargaining Contract
HOURS: 7:45 am - 3:00 pm
DESCRIPTION:
- Assist student participation within the daily classroom routine
- Provide group and/or individualized guided practice with classroom tasks, when needed, under the direction of the teacher
- Facilitate self-directed learning and independence for students within the general education setting
- Provide monitoring and assistance to students with medical needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
- MUST have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours); OR possess an Associates Degree or higher OR Must have a passing score on the Basic Skills test, MTTC
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass:
- Criminal Background Check
- Unprofessional Conduct Background Check
- Personal and business references background check
- Must be willing to work cooperatively with staff, students and parents
