As a Speech Language Pathologist, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the communication abilities of our patients, particularly children. Your work will not only involve assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders but will also include a strong focus on pediatric feeding therapy. You will collaborate closely with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to empower individuals to overcome challenges and achieve their communication and feeding goals.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, communication skills, and feeding abilities in pediatric patients.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that address each patient's unique needs, aspirations, and feeding challenges.
- Implement evidence-based speech therapy and feeding techniques to facilitate improvement in communication and eating abilities.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to support students' speech, language, and feeding development within school settings.
- Provide early intervention services to children with developmental delays in communication and feeding.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate families on strategies to support their child's speech, language, and feeding development at home.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech therapy, pediatric feeding, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to speech production, feeding, and the physiology of communication processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with pediatric populations.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech therapy and feeding practices.
- Proven ability in patient assessment techniques for effective diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Background in early intervention strategies for children with communication and feeding disorders.
